Due to its flexible system, IGIDR recruits persons with excellent qualifications in a variety of areas on a continuing basis. Applications are invited particularly from those interested in policy analysis and applied research from multidisciplinary perspective for the posts of Visiting Research Associates,Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors. The pay scales are at par with the best in the country viz. Indian Institute of Technology and Indian Institute of Management. In addition, on-campus housing and other benefits like contributory provident fund,interest subsidy on housing loans, leave travel assistance, medical facilities, etc., as applicable to all premier institutions are available. (House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance will not be admissible to those who are provided housing in the campus).
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Ph.D. with excellent academic record in areas of research of IGIDR, particularly in the following fields:
- Economics, especially Macro Economics, Finance or Monetary Economics.
- Energy systems or Energy Economics
- Environmental Economics and Policy or Environmental Engineering.
Those who have submitted their thesis for Ph.D. but have not yet been awarded the Doctorate may also apply. VISITING APPOINTMENTS
IGIDR welcomes short term academic visitors from India and abroad. The period may vary from a few days to few months or a year. Visitors may be provided with on campus guest house accommodation at modest cost. Depending up on the stay and purpose, an honorarium may be provided. However, cost of international travel is not provided. Those interested may write or email to Director.
SELECTION PROCESS:
On receiving the applications with required qualifications, the Institute processes them within 3 months. Evaluation is done by internal assessment as well as by the Selection Committee appointed for recruitment. Those who reside in India or are Visiting India are usually invited to give a seminar.
