Running

"Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must move faster than the fastest lion or it will not survive. Every morning a lion wakes up and it knows it must move faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter if you are the lion or the gazelle, when the sun comes up, you better be running." -Roger Bannister

One of my quasi-academic interests (you could say passions) is Distance Running. I have been running for the past fifteen years and have run several races of various distances: Marathon (42.2 km/26.2 miles), 37.5 km/23.44 miles, Half Marathon (21.1 km, 13.1 miles), 10 km, both in India and abroad. My most recent race was the Hiranandani Thane Half Marathon 2013. I train in several places in Mumbai, e.g. Aarey Forest, Sanjay Gandhi (Borivali) National Park, and on Marine Drive.
