The Archives of Indian Labour (AIL) is a digital repository of records related to the history of labour and labour relations in India. It was established in 2002 by the V.V. Giri National Labour Institute (VVGNLI) in collaboration with the Association of Indian Labour Historians (AILH). The AIL aims to preserve and provide access to a wide range of historical and contemporary records, including: Government documents, such as reports, circulars, and notifications, Trade union records, such as minutes, correspondence, and pamphlets, Personal papers of labour leaders and activists, Oral histories and interviews with workers, Photographs, films, and other audio-visual materials, etc. The AIL is a valuable resource for scholars, researchers, and anyone interested in the history of Indian labour. It provides a unique window into the lives and struggles of Indian workers, and helps to document the important role that labour has played in Indian society...
