It is our pleasure to invite you to the 4th International Conference on Corporate Governance in Emerging Markets to be held at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad on 23-24 August, 2013. The conference is hosted by the Indian School of Business (ISB) and the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) in association with the IFC-Global Corporate Governance Forum (IFC-GCGF).

This conference will present a unique opportunity to all of you to build relationships with fellow researchers as well as practitioners to enhance understanding and knowledge on corporate governance issues in emerging markets. Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR)
IGIDR is a think tank and an autonomous research body located in Mumbai and founded by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the country's Central Bank. IGIDR is one of the few centers of higher learning in India that focuses on academic training and research from an interdisciplinary perspective. IGIDR brings together researchers from diverse specializations to provide a holistic analysis of contemporary issues in areas like, law and economics, corporate governance, money and finance. Conference Venue

All events will be held at the Indian School of Business including the Welcome Reception on August 22. The venue for the Conference Dinner will be communicated later.


ISB's Hyderabad campus is located in Gachibowli. Nestled in over 260 acres of natural rock formations and tree canopies, its pink-marble campus located in a tranquil environment provide an ideal location for the exchange of innovative ideas.

4. TRANSPORTATION FROM AIRPORT

Please let us know your flight details well in advance and we will make arrangements for your airport pickup. Please watch out for the driver with the placard displaying your name.

Those of you who would like to make your own arrangements the following options can be used for transportation from ISB/Hyatt Hotel.

(i) Radio taxi service at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is provided by leading service providers Meru and Easy cabs. This is an air-conditioned, GPS enabled cab service with the charges payable in cash, on the basis of meter reading at the end of the journey. Indicative Fare is Rs 27 for the first Km and Rs 20 per Km consecutively. 25% night surcharge is applicable between 2300 hrs to 0500 hrs.

(ii) Luxury Car rental service at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is provided by Carzonrent and Akbar Travels.

(iii) You can request the hotel to arrange for cabs with placard

5. ACCOMMODATION

Please notify the Secretariat regarding your flight schedule and accommodation requirement. Most participants will be accommodated at the ISB Executive Housing. Some participants may be accommodated at Hyatt Hyderabad Gachibowli (Road No. 2, I.T. Park, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, 500019, INDIA, T: +91 40 4848 1234) which is 1.5 kilometers away from ISB. Transportation between the hotel and ISB will be provided during the conference.

If you let us know your stay plan, the Secretariat will arrange your hotel. The room charge for 1 night is INR 4000 (at ISB; single occupancy, includes breakfast) and INR 5312.04 (at Hyatt; single occupancy, includes breakfast, wi-fi and office transfers) which includes applicable local government taxes.

All conference participants are required to register by sending their completed registration form via e-mail to iccgem2013@igidr.ac.in. The registration form is available on the conference website and must be emailed by no later than August 9, 2013.

Participants are invited to the reception, luncheons, and dinners during the conference. Please indicate your participation on the registration form attached.

Dietary restrictions: If you will require a special diet (e.g., vegetarian meals), please inform us of your needs on the registration form in advance.

Mobile Phones in India
India has operators providing CDMA, GSM and 3G services and you should be able to use your mobile phone through worldwide roaming services.

However, you are still advised to check with your local operator before you leave for Hyderabad, India.

About Hyderabad City
Hyderabad is one of the fastest growing cities in India. Technological innovation is slowly becoming the city's forte and it is home to many global IT firms, international companies, central and state government units, research and development institutes, and defense establishments. The city is well connected by air, rail and road to international and Indian destinations. Many leading cities in India like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata are all within two hours flying distance from Hyderabad. International flights are available to the USA, UK, Frankfurt, Singapore, the Middle East, Bangkok, Colombo and Kuala Lumpur.

For travelling within the city, you have the option of choosing between the buses, metro rail, auto rickshaws and taxis. Hyderabad has one of the largest intercity bus services in the world. Bus services are available to all corners of the city and you will find some public transport just outside the ISB gate.

Weather
Hyderabad has a tropical savanna climate with dry winters. The average daily temperatures in August range from 29°C (84°F) during the day to 23°C (73°F) during the night. The dew point typically ranges from 18°C (64°F) to 24°C (75°F).

Throughout August, the most common forms of precipitation are light rain, moderate rain, drizzle and occasional thunderstorms. Precipitation is most likely around August 7, occurring in 70% of days. Precipitation is least likely around August 31, occurring in 65% of days.
