NINTH IGIDR PHD. COLLOQUIUM

CoRe 2026 is here! The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) invites applications from PhD scholars to participate in its Ninth Conversations on Research (CoRe ): IGIDR PhD Colloquium. We look forward to your enthusiastic participation in making this year's CoRe vibrant and exciting. The Colloquium is being organized as part of the Institute’s overall mandate to foster excellence in research by stimulating interactions among young researchers across the country.
CoRe aims to provide doctoral students of Economics, Energy & Environment, and Development Studies:
(a) a platform to present their ongoing research and gain valuable feedback on their work
(b) an opportunity to meet doctoral students from other parts of the country
(c) a forum to discuss emerging issues that concern both theoretical and empirical researchers
(d) guidance from CoRe Alumni on increasing publication success and how to address challenges faced during the PhD
(e) guidance from IGIDR Alumni on post-PhD career options.
IGIDR invites submissions for its Ninth Phd Colloquium, Conversations on Research (CoRe).
The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) invites applications from Ph.D. scholars to participate in the Ninth Conversations on Research (CoRe) Ph.D. Colloquium, to be held from 18 th to 20 th November 2026. CoRe brings together doctoral researchers from across India for three days of academic exchange, constructive feedback, and professional networking in an intellectually stimulating environment. A distinctive feature of CoRe is its emphasis on meaningful academic engagement and professional development.
Each paper presentation is accompanied by a dedicated discussant who provides detailed, constructive feedback, enabling participants to refine their research and strengthen their work. Beyond the presentation sessions, the Colloquium offers opportunities to interact with editors of leading national and international journals, who share insights into the publication process and the expectations of academic journals. Participants will also engage with recent Ph.D. graduates who have successfully transitioned into faculty positions, gaining practical perspectives on navigating the academic job market and building a successful research career.
Date and Venue : Wednesday, November 18, 2026 – Friday, November 20, 2026.. Institute’s Campus, located on Gen. A. K. Vaidya Marg, Goregaon (East), Mumbai 400065, INDIA.
Format:
- Full Paper Sessions : Ph.D. scholars who are in the advanced stage of their doctoral work will be invited to present a paper from their thesis. This will be followed by a discussion led by the chair/discussant.
- Poster Presentation Sessions : Ph.D. scholars who are in the initial stages of their Ph.D. will be invited to
present an overview of their thesis in poster presentations. - Panel Discussions : There will be a plenary talk and two Panel Discussions: (i) Meet the Editors (attendees will get an opportunity to interact with editors of leading national and international journals),
- Financial Support: 3rd AC train fare by the shortest route, free accommodation on a twin-sharing basis from
November 18 to November 20, 2026, and full boarding.
All Ph.D. scholars registered with a university are eligible to apply. Applicants need to register on the IGIDR website www.igidr.ac.in/CoRe2026following which they have to upload (1) their latest CV and (2) a completed paper to be considered for the Full Paper Sessions or an overview of the thesis to be considered for Poster Sessions. Selected candidates may be required to send a scanned copy of their bona-fide certificate.
