Trysts with e-Governance

February 8, 2015

 Abstract: The investment in e-governance in recent years is more than justified in terms of efficiency gains. However, there is still room for improvement by:

  • Doing away with needless steps that are legacy of people-facing systems in India, and can be consolidated;
  • Creating full-service counters instead of specialized ones, which is a legacy of manual process; and
  • Providing more comprehensible information and better facilitation services to support e-governance. Current measures of e-governance have made routine interface with the government much easier but there is always room for improvement.
